We offer a Driven Game Shoot in Essex on our farm, which is over 1200 acres and is quite undulating for Essex, with a run of large pylon wires running through the middle of it, and on the right day, weather permitting, can produce some birds flying near or over the top wire. This shoot is predominately for French Partridge, Kansas Pheasants and a few reared English Partridge and Mallards. We offer a total of 20 sold days and syndicate dates with bags of 150-400, starting from the beginning of September, and have a total of 16 different cover crop drives consisting of maize and wild bird mixtures.
The days are run in a fun, calm, family environment with all beaters, picker-ups and shooters all mixing. There is a nicely decorated converted outbuilding with a large table and chairs and a well-stocked bar as a shoot lodge. For transport to and from the drives, we have an ex-army gun bus.
Our day consists of meeting up at 9am for a coffee and to draw pegs, then setting off to shoot two drives before stopping for a quick refreshments break and a chat around 11am. After another two drives, we sit down for a ploughman’s lunch then head back out to the field for another two drives before the bag count, then a cup of tea and some cake.

We have a full time game keeper working very hard on controlling vermin, producing top game covers with conversation in mind and rearing strong healthy birds from poults producing a return of 40-50%.
